Larkin & Drought Homes were very proud to win the award for Best custom home ($300 - $400k) for their Armstrong Creek house at the recent MBAV Excellence in Housing Awards.

The aim of this project was to create a unique looking, yet livable home with a great energy rating. The interior design employs the use of spotted gum and butt joined glass to create a striking entrance to this three bedroom home and highly polished, off white concrete runs throughout the entry, kitchen, living and wet areas. An L-shaped open living space looks out to the racked alfresco ceiling line, allowing plenty of natural light to penetrate the bifold doors. The decision to use light weight cladding on the exterior allowed the builders to gain another house square, by losing the brickwork and cavity around the perimeter of the home.
